Lady Golfer –  Coming Out!

I have been a golfer all my life and just like the rest of you – Golf does get in your blood.   My parents started me out as a child so, for as long as I can remember I had a club in my hand.  Even in my teenage years I just couldn’t wait to go “shoot’ a round.

After high school, I went off to college, earned my degree and went to work as a physical education teacher.  Times being what they were, I was laid off and had a hard time finding work in this profession.   As the stories go I went to work at several different places and then it dawned on me to apply at the local golf courses.  Before I knew what was happening, I had this thought that I would be become a golf professional.

It wasn't long before I was traveling to Florida in the winter to work at courses and going back to New England in the winter to work there.

Getting certified is not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination.  It took me quite a while and a lot of hard work but I did it.  I was so proud to get that LPGA Class A Teaching certificate that I probably walked around with a smile on my face for months on end.   Didn’t matter what else was happening  - I was just happy to be a PRO!

However, like all good stories there are always those lovely kinks that come into play.   It didn’t take long to realize that being a professional “Lady Golfer” was going to be tough and to realize that this is a “man’s sport’ and to be included you really had to “good”.    I have lots of experiences to share with you – check back here or bookmark my website for more interesting facts at www.allyourgolfneeds.com.

You are sure to get some good ideas, some laughs and hopefully great tips!  Plus, you’ll see what I’ve decided to do to keep golf in my life.
